On CarCollect, sellers can choose to invite specific buyers to bid on a vehicle.
An invitation to bid means that a seller believes the vehicle may be of interest to your organisation. This may be because you have previously shown interest in similar vehicles or because your organisation is active in a particular make, model or vehicle type.
Why do I receive these invitations?
Invitations may be sent because:
A seller considers your organisation a relevant buyer.
The vehicle matches your previous bids or search behaviour.
You are part of the seller's trading network.
The seller wants to receive additional relevant bids.
I am new to CarCollect. Why am I receiving so many invitations?
When you have just created an account, CarCollect has limited information about your preferences.
As a result, you may receive more invitations for different vehicles during the initial period. As you view more vehicles and place more bids, the system learns which vehicles are relevant to your organisation. This means that invitations become increasingly relevant over time.
Can I do anything with these invitations?
Yes. An invitation gives you the opportunity to go directly to the vehicle and assess whether it is suitable for your stock.
You can then:
View the vehicle details.
Place a bid.
Save the vehicle for later.
Are you receiving too many or irrelevant invitations?
As you use CarCollect more frequently, invitations become better aligned with your trading activities.
