Where can I find the temporary document number (TDN)?

The Temporary Document Number (TDN) is required to release a vehicle after purchase when no regular registration document is available.

Once the vehicle payment has been confirmed and the TDN has been made available, you can find it in the vehicle dossier under Documents.


Where can I find the TDN?

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to My CarCollect.

  2. Open My purchases.

  3. Select the relevant vehicle.

  4. Go to the Documents section.

  5. Open or download the Temporary Document Number (TDN).


When is the TDN available?

The TDN is made available after:

  • The vehicle payment has been completed.

  • The payment has been confirmed in CarCollect.

  • The seller has added the TDN to the vehicle dossier.

Once the TDN is available, you can use it for the further processing of the vehicle.


What can I use the TDN for?

You can use the TDN to release the vehicle when no regular registration document is yet available.

After releasing the vehicle, upload the release document to the vehicle dossier so that the further process can be completed.


I cannot see the TDN. What should I do?

First check:

✔ Whether the payment has been completed in full.
✔ Whether you have opened the correct vehicle under My purchases.
✔ Whether the seller has already made the TDN available.

Can you still not find the TDN? Please contact the CarCollect Customer Success team.

Please provide:

  • The vehicle registration number.

  • The CarCollect ID.

  • The payment status.

Tip

After purchasing a vehicle, always check the Documents section in the vehicle dossier. This is where you can find the available documents required for the further processing of the vehicle.
